Learn To Dive

West Bay Divers offers the best possible conditions for learning to scuba dive. Our training site is West Bay, the palm tree lined beach just a short walk from the dive centre.

PADI Introductory Programs

The starting point for most people is the introductory Discover Scuba Diving program, which can be completed within half a day. From there the next step is usually a full Open Water Course, granting you the full basic scuba diving licence. Open water courses vary in length from 2 to 4 days.

If you are coming to Roatan on a short vacation it is also possible to complete PADI’s referral and E-Learning program where you can complete a portion of the Open Water Scuba Diver course online or at your local PADI Dive centre. More details on all these options are listed below, please scroll down. If you have any questions please contact us. Prices can be found here.

The referral program means you complete the classroom and pool work of the open water course at another dive centre (i.e. your local dive centre at home) before your arrival. That way, all you need to do in Roatan is to complete four training dives with one of our Instructors and you are certified and ready to join us on our daily trips.

With E-Learning PADI offers the classroom portion of the Open Water diver course online. Sign up now and once you arrive on Roatan we jump right into the Caribbean and start diving. Three days of training and students are certified and ready to dive on our daily trips. For Instructions on signing up with PADI’s E learning program please click here.
